Tom Tate's Celtic Sultan comes into this in good form having followed his win at Catterick with a decent effort in defeat when chasing home Signor Peltro over course and distance last month but another 2lb rise for that effort makes this tougher and preference in a competitive opener is for SECRET NIGHT, who gets the vote over Fishforcompliments. Richard Fahey's gelding ran too badly to be true at Ascot last time and that run is best ignored but on what he showed previously this season when chasing home Mister Hardy at Newcastle he has every chance for his in-form stable. Bryan Smart's Captain Macarry is probably a shade high in the weights now after his win at Beverley last month and of more interest may be Andrew Balding's Oceana Blue, who is only 4lbs higher than when scoring at Newmarket last month. Gay Kelleway's Hustle is likely to find this tougher than the race that he won at Newmarket last time but has to be considered along with Kevin Ryan's Errigal Lad, who has been running consistently well over six furlongs of late and would have every chance if able to stay the extra furlong. The vote though goes the way of Secret Night, who has transferred his recent good form on the Polytrack back to turf and represents the very much in-form stable of Clive Cox.
