In depth

Verdict

This is slightly easier than the Listed contest that Posteritas won at Yarmouth and she is taken to follow up; possibly at the main expense of Tartouche and Look Again, who have to be respected as the only unbeaten runners in the line up. Literatim also has to enter calculations after his narrow defeat in a valuable handicap at Sandown last time and a positive move for the colt at the top of the weights could be significant. A few of the rest have been expensive to follow and the likes of Fort, Oddsmaker and Swagger Stick will be in last chance saloon for many of their supporters, while Galvanise does nothing quickly and is opposable in this company. Tartouche won a muddling contest last time and will appreciate a stronger pace this afternoon. However, this is her stiffest test to date and may be worth taking on today. Which we do so with Posteritas, who showed a live and game spirit when forcing her head in front on unsuitably heavy ground on her latest start. The firmer conditions will see her in a more positive light and this daughter of Lear Fan can post another timely reminder that Henry Cecil is still a force to be reckoned with when he has the correct ammunition.
