In depth

Verdict

Desert Dreamer might just provide the answer to an interesting Conditions Stakes race. Barry Hills' colt's only win to date has come at seven furlongs so today's trip is ideal. He also has a favourable chance based on official ratings. The Chesham Stakes third, New Mexican, comes out best on the ratings and holds a very good chance too. The superbly-bred Mukafeh just got home on his Newbury debut and should have plenty of improvement to come. Pivotal Guest also has solid juvenile form, while a return to the level of form that saw Robocop beat Chinsola at Nottingham, would give him claims too. Sabeeh impressed on his debut but then ran unplaced in the Coventry Stakes. He has not run since and now returns over seven furlongs, which should suit. Frank Sonata impressed when winning at Newcastle, although this represents a step up in class. Ann Summers Two has form enough to win her maiden but is unlikely to be quite good enough to score here. Overall, then, Desert Dreamer gets the nod.
