Verdict

Light Heavy looked as though he might be a superstar after landing the Derby Trial at Leopardstown but hasn't fulfilled expectations though, to be fair to him, he's twice raced in Group 1 company. Aidan O'Brien has won two of the last three renewals and brings DECLARATION OF WAR out quickly after his easy victory at the Curragh on Sunday. He's entered in the Champion Stakes and will need to win this comfortably to take up that engagement but he's only had four career starts and could prove much better than this. Clive Cox sends Black Spirit from the UK and the five-year-old scored at this level at Newbury last month while fellow traveller Prince Alzain has won three times at Wolverhampton so won't mind the surface. Aloof is a very progressive daughter of Galileo who scored at this level last time and will be aided by her allowances.
