HOLD THE ACES showed enough promise in his first three starts for connections to send him to the The Curragh for the Group 2 Beresford Stakes but he was outclassed and this is more his grade. His overall form is better than that of Long Live The King, who made an eye-catching start behind A Word Apart at Leopardstown before a very disappointing effort when long odds-on at Gowran Park where he looked a tricky ride. Ploopluck Bridge will need to improve but Jim Bolger's newcomer Stable Bank will probably attract support though Ger Lyons' Printmaker is definitely one to note on his debut as he's by Shamardal and owned by Sheikh Mohammed.
