In depth

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien intends to win this with three entries, two of them by Galileo including Joseph's mount Mars, a half-brother to the San Siro Gran Criterium winner Nayarra. The Ferryman is also by Galileo and his dam has already produced five winners. RAIN GOD is by Henrythenavigator and a half-brother to a USA Grade 2 winner. With neither jockey bookings nor the market likely to tell us too much about the strengths of the Ballydoyle trio he's the one that gets the vote over a trip that should suit. Forty One Phases is related to several winners and should be useful while My Rules looks best of those with experience after a reasonable start behind Count Of Limonade at Roscommon a week ago. The filly Estinaad is one for the future as she's a half-sister to a German Derby winner and out of a staying mare.
