In depth

Verdict

An Saighdiur has returned to form and gained his seventh victory at Tipperary earlier this month - he has no problems acting on this surface. But he was a long way behind Via Ballacroy at the Curragh in May and the latter also has a good record on Polytrack. It's difficult to know what to make of LAKE DISTRICT, who makes his handicap debut. But he was always travelling like a winner at Cork and stormed away to score by seven lengths so could have been let in lightly. He's given the nod despite this being a very tough race in which regular Polytrack winner Almadaa and the useful Farmleigh House, who has won five times here and generally performs at a higher level, are other major contenders.
