Verdict

Michael Halford won this a year ago and Liberatio made a very promising debut at the Curragh in August then didn't appear to be suited by front-running on a return visit a month later. He can do better but the presence of a quartet of entries from Ballydoyle looks ominous. WAR SECRETARY is the only one to have had a run and he didn't show much over 6f on soft ground at the Curragh but he gave the impression there was plenty more in the locker and he's handed the vote. Homesman is also by War Front and related to plenty of winners while Iron Mountain, another son of the same sire, is out of a lightly-raced maiden from the family of Galileo. Squire's Tale is by Galileo and a half-brother to a winning miler in the USA so the market is likely to provide pointers to the merits of the O'Brien battalions.
