Roger Varian has made a tremendous start to his career with a dozen three-year-old winners already in the bag and Boogie Shoes, impressive in victories at Wolverhampton and Salisbury, looks nailed on to be involved in the finish. Mark Johnston has a good record at the fixture so Malthouse, another chasing a hat-trick after handicap victories at Sandown and Newmarket, must be considered though a 9lb rise for his latest success may prove his downfall. Trojan Nights is held by Charles Camoin on a line through Tullius, who beat Sylvester Kirk's charge at Sandown but this can go to RAIN MAC. John Gosden's colt looked in need of the run on his reappearance at York but showed up nicely behind Sud Pacifique and with that under his belt can make the expected progress and take this.
