In depth

Verdict

Malyana gets the nomination in the finale ahead of Putra Laju, Docofthebay and Benny The Bat. A winner on her final start last year, Michael Jarvis's filly should go well off this mark of 75. Another winter on her back may have seen her improve and she gets the nod. Musical Beat is well thought of at home however she has a 6lb penalty for her win at Thirsk on Saturday and whilst she has place claims, the extra weight in the this better race may just find her out. Docofthebay is unexposed after just two runs last year and has claims, along with Murrin who is consistent and should be watched in the market for signs of support. Putra Laju came good last time out at Wolverhampton however the step up in trip won't necessarily suit, whilst the consistent pair of Situla and Baltic Belle have place claims again. In this open finale, Malyana is fancied to continue her stable's excellent start to the turf season.
