    Verdict

Only six go to post though the conundrum for the punters is no easier for the lack of numbers. Peter Crate enjoyed a big day at Ascot at the weekend and former Brett Johnson inmate, Sandfrankskipsgo may be popular despite two sizeable defeats. BLANC DE CHINE was behind him when they met at Windsor last autumn and Peter Makin's grey can reverse form. The filly won readily at Goodwood on her seasonal reappearance before disappointing at Bath in what was a much stronger race. Signifer ran in the Norfolk Stakes last year and is on a losing run of 14. He was also a beaten favourite at Bath recently and the visor is back on. Paul Hanagan is a rare booking for Bryan Smart and Wild Sauce will be capable of taking an early hand. The saddle slipped on Lady Gibraltar at Ascot so that effort is respected as being a fair one under the circumstances.
