        Verdict

        GULF OF ALASKA is probably the one to beat in this opener as he will almost certainly improve on his debut third at York. Very green that day, he kept on well in the closing stages and this looks less competitive. Gunner Will has shown promise in both starts and will almost certainly make his presence felt again while Blank Czech, who has his sights lowered here, and Willie Haggas' filly Ashbina appear to be improving with experience and can't be ignored. Swift Cat hinted at ability at Kempton and may prove the pick of the remainder.
