In depth

Verdict

GLENWOOD KNIGHT is marginally preferred to Sonny Mullen and Tarbeck. Donald McCain's charge ran a respectable reappearance at Haydock last month given that he had been off the track for some time. Tiredness probably got the better of him but he should have come on plenty for that race as the first two home appeared useful. Sonny Mullen faces no easy task giving a 7lb penalty all around for a victory in a Uttoxeter novice. The yard are in their best form for some time and he can be forgiven a modest run at Cheltenham over significantly shorter. Tarbek was well held on hurdling introduction though he shaped well in bumpers previously. The booking of Sam Thomas appears significant. Norwest has been soundly accounted for in modest handicaps while Dunraven Star and Tasty Tarn have exhibited little promise so far. Plenty of deadwood in this race and Glenwood Knight can take the spoils.
