Verdict

Consulate is consistent but looks to be in the handicapper's grip, while the hat-trick-seeking Captain Dash shoulders a 7lb penalty for his victory in a weak-looking handicap at Wincanton last week. FOREST RHYTHM's fifth on the same card came in a much more competitive affair and he probably needed that run. Seamus Mullins' charge will appreciate the extra today and doesn't look badly handicapped on his best form so is preferred to Towcester winner Run Along Boy and the disappointing My Brother Sylvest. Captain Becket has won off a higher mark but most of his recent runs have been over further and he could struggle to keep up with some of these.
