Verdict

Brinestine came to grief when making his hurdling debut in useful company last season and his jumping again left a bit to be desired when fourth at Wincanton in March. He may need more time but Horizontal Speed should be winning soon judged on his half-length second to Lordofthehouse at Kempton last time and is preferred to May's Fontwell winner Jack By The Hedge, who carries a 7lb penalty. MINELLA FRIEND was bought out of John Nallen's yard after easily winning a Sligo bumper in May. Already a winner between the flags, he looks a nice prospect for Evan Williams and can take this. Quite By Chance is gradually getting closer but Dream Deal probably has more scope.
