This isn't the strongest of contests and Noel Meade appears to have found an ideal opportunity for APACHE STRONGHOLD to make a successful start over timber. A winning debut in a Down Royal bumper in November was followed by a decent run here in April then a superb effort in the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown won by The Liquidator. He's likely to start a very short price here due to the lack of creditable opposition and it would be no surprise if Afterclass, who makes his racecourse debut and is bred for the job, were to follow him home. Theatre Mill showed a bit of potential in bumpers but has been well beaten over timber as has Medinah Gold, whose two runs to date have shown little.
