Verdict

Another interesting race despite the low turnout, and one where we will chance the veteran KADOUNT to have the measure of likely favourite Cool Running and Thistlecraft. Formerly trained by Alan King, the selection has run well on both his previous starts here, winning one of them over course and distance when the ground was good to firm. Stamina is guaranteed, while his knowledge and liking for this tight track is a good positive, although we are relying on some improvement in recent form to see him home in front. Cool Running acts on the ground and is rated well clear of the field on his current mark. He might have the class to win it, but stamina is definitely a concern, especially with two previous course and distance winners lining up against him. Thistlecraft is one of those who have scored here, although he has thrown in a few stinkers at the track too, and looks to have too much to find on recent evidence. Pointing winner Jumbul Sale would be a shock scorer and we hope that Kadount can recapture some form with a win.
