In depth

Verdict

Batavir was second at Catterick last month and has won off a higher mark in the past. But his losing run stretches back more than two years and he’ll probably find at least one too good again at the weights. Leicester runner-up Mister Grez is another who is nicely treated nowadays and Henllan Harri won here twice over hurdles and was second off this mark at Plumpton in January when looking the likely winner turning for home. JOHNS LUCK (NAP) has his ground and came up against a well-handicapped subsequent winner when attempting a hat-trick at Huntingdon last month. His yard continues in good form and the eight-year-old can pick up the winning thread again today.
