In depth

Verdict

This is a huge drop in class for Carbon Dating, who has run in the Epsom Derby and the Irish equivalent at the Curragh this year. He was last seen in a Listed race at Hamilton but might not be one to take a short price about given he's yet to really show a great deal. From a breeding perspective, we like the look of newcomer BEYOND ARGUMENT as he's by Galileo and the second foal of a mare who produced a decent miler with her first offspring. He's preferred to stablemate Every Instinct, who may need more time. Bumper winner Mr Kite is also worth a second look and Alla Breve was too green to do herself justice in the autumn but, like Deebaj, lacks an outing this year.
