In depth

Verdict

A tight-looking handicap in which TEN POLE TUDOR is a very tentative selection. Michael Scudamore's gelding has only had six starts over hurdles and races off the same mark as when a close-up third at Towcester last month. Parazar could be interesting if fully wound-up following a lay-off but it may be worth opposing Lajidaal, who had shown very little before winning a weak contest over C&D earlier this month and carries a 7lb penalty for his troubles. Optimistic Duke may prove the pick of the four-year-olds and Border Station appears to have improved a little lately, though probably has his fair share of weight.
