SHERWANI WOLF looks the one to beat here if reproducing his run behind Invictus at Hereford. Today's softer ground is definitely in his favour and he gets 7lb from Carpincho, who didn't impress with his jumping at Newbury last month though this is considerably less competitive. It's difficult to make a case for either of the other two on what they've shown so far.
Carpincho (FR) 9-1 (11-1) Took keen hold, tracked leaders, went 2nd 7th until approaching 9th where mistake, not fluent 13th, mistake and ridden 3 out, well held last, 3rd of 4, 14l behind Time For Rupert (11-8) at Newbury 3m chs (2) sft in Dec.
Penn Da Benn (FR) 15-2 (11-1) Took keen hold, not fluent in rear, slow 2nd, hit 4th, blundered 6th, pushed along in modest 5th after 5 out, hung left and eased before next, tailed off, 5th of 6, 45l behind Oscar Gogo (11-7) at Ffos Las 2m 3f hcp chs 0-130 (3) hvy in Dec.
Rockandahardplace (IRE) 66-1 (10-12) Chased leading pair, went 2nd 8th until 4 out, chased leading pair but not on terms when lost 3rd and weakened well before next, tailed off, 5th of 9, well behind Lundy Sky (11-3) at Exeter 2m 7f nh nov hdl (4) gs in Mar.
Sherwani Wolf (IRE) 4-1 (10-5) Raced wide, chased leaders, blundered badly 12th, went 2nd 3 out, no chance with winner from next, finished tired, 2nd of 7, 11l behind Invictus (10-7) at Hereford 2m 5f Novice Handicap Chase (0-135) (4yo+) (3) gd in Nov.
