In depth

Verdict

Dream Witness is the pick over Monets Masterpiece, Grey Paint and Carlton Scroop, with Project Sunshine worth a mention. Dream Witness can be considered unfortunate not to have opened her account at Plumpton a fortnight ago, as she was in the lead and going well turning for home when a loose horse got in the way and caused her to lose about five lengths. Brendan Duke's filly ended up finishing second, and with a bit more luck, can make amends here. She had Carlton Scroop behind in third, so should just about hold that rival, while Monets Masterpiece is out to get the losses back after being sent off as favourite in the above-mentioned race. He ran much too freely at the Sussex track, and the former Amanda Perrett inmate will need to show more restraint to figure. Grey Paint has been well behind useful dual-purpose performer Fair Along twice at Salisbury and looks ready for a switch to timber, while Project Sunshine showed nothing in four outings for Jamie Osborne and has moved to the type of yard that will bring out any jumping ability in him. Boss Mak and Plough Maite are closely matched on Huntingdon form so are worth a small mention, but we shall side with Dream Witness.
