Verdict

ANTIQUUS won over a mile at Navan last October and has had just two runs this season. He reappeared with a very good effort in May and was having his first start since when travelling well for much of the way in the race won by South South West here last month. He should be fighting fit for this and is handed the vote. Jappeli didn't run last season but has been going well all summer and won over this trip at Tipperary last month. She didn't quite last out a mile at Killarney last time so this should prove ideal and Ross Coakley's claim is a real plus. Consonance has yet to win but should be in the mix if able to repeat his fine run behind Measured Approval at Roscommon while the likes of July Revolution, Soohaad and Fastidious are all respected in a wide-open handicap.
