Waterside is the pick here over Desert Dreamer, Effective and Purus. Waterside has won two of his last four starts and the manner of his latest victory at Kempton suggests that he is worth chancing away from the all-weather. He has Banknote behind in third last time, and as that one has Royal Hint Cup pretentions, the form of Gary Moore's seven-year-old has to be respected. The drop back in trip to seven furlongs is not seen as a worry, and he is the pick to keep up the good work. Desert Dreamer was a beaten favourite at Folkestone but is dangerous to leave out in this sort of race. Effective has gone a bit off the boil but with Jamie Spencer on board, the Alan Jarvis team will be hopeful, while Purus is paying the penalty for past achievements and is saddled with topweight. Glencalvie might just surprise as he does not appear too badly treated now, but Waterside has more chance than most here and is the one to beat.
