FITZWILLY is turned again quickly after winning over the trip at Lingfield on Wednesday. Simon Pearce's claim halves his penalty and his proven stamina can see him home in front again ahead of Bath runner-up See And Be Seen and the less-exposed Pencombe. The latter was second over 1m2f at Lingfield last time but this will be his first run on Turf and the big step up in distance is a concern on pedigree. Flamingo Beat was a bit disappointing at Newbury in June and the others also arrive out of sorts.
Pencombe (FR) 9-2 (9-3) Close up, headway to chase winner approaching final furlong, no impression towards finish, 2nd of 5, 1 1/2l behind Silver Dixie (9-2) at Lingfield 1m 2f 3yo hcp 0-75 (5) pol in Feb.
Flamingo Beat 7-1 (9-4) Unruly start, slowly into stride, last pair, headway far side over 3f out, chased leaders over 2f out, soon ridden and hung left, weakened inside final furlong, 7th of 15, 9l behind Debdebdeb (9-2) at Newbury 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-70 (5) gd in Jun.
Downhill Dancer (IRE) 4-1 (9-5) Tracked leader until 8f out, chased clear leading pair until 3f out, driven 2f out, soon outpaced, plugged on again inside final furlong, 5th of 6, 3 1/2l behind Jacobella (9-2) at Chepstow 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-60 (6) gd.
See And Be Seen 12-1 (8-12) Held up in rear, headway over 3f out, chased winner inside final furlong, never able to challenge, 2nd of 7, 2 1/2l behind First Secretary (9-7) at Bath 1m 4f 3yo hcp 0-60 (6) fm.
