Verdict

Namoos is the pick over First Approval and Quintrell, with Sajaaya an interesting newcomer to note. Namoos made her debut over six furlongs here last June, finishing third behind a 40-1 shot, but was then put away to mature. The daughter of Sahm finally returned to action at Nottingham a fortnight ago and ran a race full of promise when just edged out in a three-way photo, and with an extra furlong to travel today, this half-sister to Iqte Saab is the one to beat. First Approval seemed to run out of steam when eventually finishing third on her Epsom return, but as she is related to miler Hawksley Hill, it was more likely lack of a run rather than stamina limitations that contributed to her defeat. The Barry Hills inmate can give the selection most to do. Henry Candy has a couple here, Summertime Parkes and Quintrell, the latter partnered by Dane O'Neill who rode a winner for the stable on Monday. Sajaaya brings an Australian influence into proceedings and holds no fancy entries, but with the Stoute team on fire, she has to be noted in the market. However, from a form perspective the selection has to be Namoos.
