In depth

Verdict

Ross Coakley was brought over from Ireland to ride a winner for Mark Johnston at Lingfield last week and the Middleham-based handler will be hoping he can do the trick again on BATHOS. The only course and distance winner in the line-up, he's been running in higher-class handicaps since that victory and is just 2lb higher. Heisman has only been raised 2lb for his recent narrow victory over Bold Prediction at Yarmouth and both should go well while Eurystheus scored on soft ground at Chester and found the going much too quick at Nottingham on Thursday. Artful Rogue hasn't run for almost two years but he's performed well in three starts on this track and Amanda Perrett will have him ready. Van Huysen's victory at Sandown on Wednesday was in two grade's lower and he has a penalty to contend with.
