Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won six of the last seven renewals and will be keen for Rule The Waves to keep up the sequence. However, he was having his third start when a close third to Initial at Leopardstown and HUNT, who finished a neck in front of him, was making his debut so there's no reason why the placings shouldn't be confirmed. Both should enjoy the extra furlong while Spryt, who made a promising start over this trip at Listowel, appeared to find a mile taxing his stamina on soft ground at Galway so should do better here. Contenance is a half-sister to eight winners and may prove best of the newcomers.
