Verdict

It's hard to imagine Sir Henry Cecil or John Dunlop having had many runners here in the past but Sir Michael Stoute won the race in 2009 with Ave. Andromeda Galaxy will be having her first start for the Cecil camp after joining from France where she won a Listed race. It's more than likely she's been sent here for some soft ground so connections will be hoping for plenty of rain. Beatrice Aurore represents Dunlop and she won a Group 3 at Chantilly last July. She's been running well without quite getting there and was runner-up in a Group 2 in Turkey last time. CAPONATA heads the home challenge and looks the one to be on. She's been narrowly beaten in Group 3 and 2 events on her two latest starts after landing a Naas Listed contest but has enhanced her reputation on both occasions, particularly when a short-head behind Up at the Curragh a fortnight ago when Soon finished last. Alla Speranza was narrowly beaten by Soon on heavy ground at Killarney but has progressed in the meantime and beat a good field in a Leopardstown Group 3 last time.
