Verdict

Joshua The First sets the standard but, after finishing runner-up on his last three starts, patience is beginning to wear thin. He should have the measure of Electrickery and Chorister Girl here, but a trio of potentially smart newcomers could prove more troublesome. Celestrial is related to useful Group 3 winner Distinctive and has a later entry in Doncaster's valuable sales race, while the American-bred Elusive Island cost 67,000gns and is in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy. SARDANAPALUS is entered for next month's Gimcrack Stakes at York and this half-brother to four winners may be good enough to land this on his debut.
