Verdict

Two ex-Godolphin inmates rock up here in the form of PIONEERING and Snowy Winter and the former might just be good enough in a moderate contest. He achieved little when with Charlie Appleby but has progressed in each of three runs for David O'Meara, most recently when only beaten two and a half lengths in an all-aged Beverley handicap. Snowy Winter was not devoid of promise on debut and should improve, whilst Princess Nearco delivered a solid handicap run last time and is respected but Somnambulist will be a strong danger if repeating the best of his maiden form. He wasn't so good last time but even that run makes him a leading contender at this level. Red Star Dancer needs to improve considerably, likewise Ember's Glow who was bred by Darley but didn't actually run for Godolphin.
