COUNT ALMAVIVA may be the one to side with in this tight nursery with Toledo Gold and Bold Account perhaps the biggest dangers. The selection was entitled to need his run at Thirsk as it was his first outing since April but he ran well to be only beaten a neck and a short-head. The form has worked out satisfactorily with the second winning a nursery from a similar mark next time and the fifth winning a sales race at Newmarket at the weekend. He handles cut in the ground and should go well. Fathey is tried in headgear today following a slightly disappointing effort at Haydock but the race didn't really pan out for him and this does represent a drop in grade. Toledo Gold failed to handle the heavy ground on debut but left that effort behind when holding off the challenge of Dr Jameson on fast ground at Redcar. That one was well held in third in a fair Newbury maiden next time and Toledo Gold has to prove that he can act on this ground but his breeding suggests that he will and he may progress. Go Go Green is open to improvement on his nursery bow, Rossett Rose will need to find some but has been highly tried on occasion whilst Bold Account has improved since encountering soft ground and may cope with the step up from selling class. Lady Salama won her maiden over course and distance a week ago but that wasn't a strong race and she could struggle here. The claims of Count Almaviva are preferred.
