Verdict

Mark Johnston has had the winner of this twice in recent years and relies on Ebor fifth Oriental Fox and SCATTER DICE, who also ran well at York, this time. The latter is weighted to reverse Chester running with Kiama Bay and, though hard to predict, it would be no surprise to see him go close off a decent mark. Pallasator reappears following a lengthy absence but fitness is rarely an issue with a Sir Mark Prescott runner and he's potentially better than a handicapper. Clowance Estate could figure with the rains arriving while Platinum and Semeen arrive at the top of their game. This might be too competitive for the former but Luca Cumani's charge is likely to appreciate the step up in distance and is still improving. Poyle Thomas is another with more to offer having only had five starts. He won over 1m5f at Newbury and is tenacious, though could be biting off more than he can chew in this grade.
