CAPTAIN SCOOBY, Kheylide and Rio Royale make the shortlist, with Captain Scooby, in good heart at the moment, taken to make up for a near miss last time. Kheylide has been running well and is consistent, but the gelding carries a penalty for taking a Newmarket race last week in the steward's room and that may be prohibitive. Rio Royale is proven on the ground and won well last time, with the runner up subsequently franking the form. He shoulders a 6lb penalty here, and is not proven on the ground so is opposed. Captain Scooby looks a winner waiting to happen. He has dropped a pound despite finishing third at Thirsk in a similar contest last time. The fourth has come out and won earlier in the week, and he will have no problem with the ground. Captain Scooby is well treated here and looks to have a lot going for him.
