Verdict

HISTORY WRITER looks a cut above these. Rated 85, David Menusier’s colt was beaten by a subsequent handicap winner in novice company at Nottingham last month and should be opening his account with a similar effort. Strategist will be sharper for a recent comeback run here but has a bit to find with the selection on these terms while Perisher finished a well-beaten third at Kempton on his debut, though looks a likely improver. Bodes Well finished runner-up at Salisbury on his earlier debut but that was on soft ground and he was well beaten at Kempton last time.
