Verdict

This is a competitive staying handicap and most have some sort of chance. Protaras is interesting upped in distance as he kept on well when runner-up to Classic Vintage over 1m4f at Ffos Las earlier this month, while Deauville Flyer deserves some reward for a string of sterling efforts in high-grade handicaps over this trip and further. Silvestre De Sousa prefers English Summer to stablemate Ithoughtitwasover with the four-year-old back on the same mark as when successful at Chester earlier in the season. Lyric Street wasn't disgraced over this trip at York last month, when recent C&D winner Motivado was behind, but he has something to find on that form with ARDLUI. Henry Candy's colt may still be improving and appeared to handle soft ground when third at Salisbury in June. Still at the right end of the handicap, he makes most appeal today.
