In depth

Verdict

Directa's Digger, It's Moon and Rudry World are the ones that catch the eye here, with Directa's Digger taken to come out on top. Its Moon will be a popular choice having shaped well in two starts this term, latterly at Newmarket, after winning twice over hurdles during the winter. She has to concede weight all round though and may find that behind her. Rudry World won three times last year, and also finished a close fourth at York. This is his first outing for seven months however, and he may just need the run. Directa's Digger is only a modest performer both on the Flat and over jumps, but he turned in his best performance to date when a close second in a staying handicap at Bath. That was a lowly affair, but this is only marginally better, and running off the same mark, Directa's Digger is a sporting selection to lose his maiden tag.
