Return Spring showed the benefit of his hurdling debut in good company at Chepstow by winning by 14 lengths at Ludlow. He sets a decent standard and should go well again, despite his penalty. Highland Retreat made a winning start under Rules over 3m at Exeter and is another to consider while Midnight Appeal is a five times winner over fences, though this looks like a pipe-opener before he resumes his chasing career. LONG WAVE made a favourable impression when third at Uttoxeter on his hurdles bow in October. He'll strip fitter here and his form in point-to-points stands up to scrutiny - we'll take him to get off the mark today. Cornerhouse Sam, Fromthetop and Ravens Brook are also points winners but lack a recent outing.
