In depth

Verdict

MR ED should be too good for his opponents here and gets the vote, while Lady Myfanwy and Howard Howard should get involved. The selection scored off much higher marks earlier in his career, acts on fast ground and stays three miles well. He won at Exeter last time out on his first start since last summer and he can build on that today. Howard Howard is perhaps carrying a BHA rating that is an overassessment of his current abilities, but he does occasionally show the sort of form that would give him a chance here and he acts on the ground. First time cheek pieces make him of interest. However, Lady Myfanwy may be a better proposition. She has not yet raced on ground this quick under rules, but she has won on good and if she can put a poor effort behind her from last time out then she has possibilities. Grey Kid has been running consistently well in points, including when an easy winner in Wales last time out and he is not discounted, while Doof would not be a huge shock winner, but Mr Ed looks the talking horse for today.
