In depth

Verdict

A very poor race where a watching brief is best advised but if you must play then keep stakes to a minimum and try BEAT THE SYSTEM, who can edge out Prairie Spirit. The selection is still only six and lightly-raced, so improvement is certainly not out of the question. His best couple of runs have been on a sound surface and going right-handed and he gets both today, and having shown decent ability in the context of this contest then we'll suggest him. Prairie Spirit was a decent flat performer in his native France and he also acts on a sound surface. The yard is not in red hot form at present, but he should have learned plenty from his hurdling debut and can show more today. Dashing Romeo won a Downpatrick bumper on a sound surface and has not seen much in the way of good ground since. Today's conditions might help him improve on recent efforts. Amron Hill has some solid form in context, but the ground might be a bit on the quick side for him. Course and distance winner Nick's Choice is plenty long enough in the tooth now and in any case would prefer softer ground and we prefer the claims of Beat The System.
