In depth

Verdict

In the opener, Cloudless Dawn is selected ahead of Rare Society and Nobel. There can be no doubt that Cloudless Dawn is a big player based on overall form, ratings and the fact that she receives weight from her main opponents. She ought to go well. Rare Society comes here after a break but he can run well given such a scenario and, given that he fares well on the ratings and will love the going, has to be respected. Nobel got his act together at Sedgefield last time and surely the only way is now up, while Lethem Air would holds claims based on his January Ayr win, although that came on heavy going. Finally, Ellerslie George might improve on what will be his chasing debut but, for the selection, we will side with Cloudless Dawn.
