Verdict

Richard Fahey can do little wrong at present so it may be worth siding with BARNIE MAGOODLE ahead of Pyracantha and Brave Buccaneer. The selection held four alternative entries when declared for this race so it's reasonable to assume that connections were keen to find the right opening for their gelding. His yard has sent out fourteen winners under both codes so far this month so he could hardly be making his debut at a more opportune time. Pyracantha doesn't appear to be one of the stable's star performers but may prove capable of better as may Northern Cross who didn't shine in heavy ground at Ayr whilst Don't Be Sakhee stayed on quite well at Wetherby and is open to progress. Brave Buccaneer looks the part on paper and is from a yard that does well in these races and that comment can also be applied to Dalmally but the newcomer that we've opted for goes by the name of Barnie Magoodle.
