Verdict

Brian Ellison's stable had a hat-trick at Sedgefield on Tuesday but Kingsdale Orion let the team down when only fifth in the opening novices' hurdle having jumped poorly. The seven-year-old has become disappointing and is worth taking on again here. Maggio has already had 14 starts over timber but most of those have been in better company and a repeat of his third in a Grade 3 at Navan last season would almost certainly suffice in this. But preference is for CAPE DUTCH, who has few miles on the clock and ran a race full of promise when fourth to Bullet Man at Huntingdon. Monkton Vale was only a plater on the Flat but could prove the pick of the remainder today.
