In depth

Verdict

Pillard has not managed a win so far in this country but had a pipe-opener on the all-weather in February. Caid Du Lin should have won at Fontwell last month but threw away a lead on the run-in by hanging. If steering a straight course here, he could easily recoup losses as he races off the same mark but POLITICAL QUIZ looks a more straightforward ride. The drop back in distance is a slight worry for the recent Carlisle winner but he did score over 2m at Leicester in January and is much improved. Ryeolliean has tumbled down the weights but has yet to show much improvement for it and it is almost two years since his one and only victory.
