In depth

Verdict

Cantgeton was outclassed at Aintree last time out but now dropped in grade, Peter Monteith's gelding is fancied to get the head back in front; Lord Collingwood and Loaded Dice head the list of dangers. The selection does have the burden of top-weight today, and it will be a good performance if he can give lumps of weight away all round. However he showed a good attitude when winning two starts back at Carlisle and he should give punters a good run for their money. Russian Sky is consistent and should run his race, especially if they go a decent clip as he stays well. Lord Collingwood shaped with promise on his chasing debut and is sure to have learnt from that experience, whilst Silent Bay has claims if his jumping holds up although quicker ground will suit. Loaded Dice is of interest on his chasing debut despite showing little over hurdles last season, however it is Cantgeton who is taken to oblige.
