In depth

Verdict

Vinstar is of obvious interest making his hurdling debut after posting two wins and two seconds in four bumper starts for Donald McCain. He will surely go close if taking well to timber. Ivan Boru is consistent but limited, although he could improve for the slight increase in trip, whilst Things Change, Ueuetotl and POTOMAC finished third, fourth and eighth in the Wetherby maiden won by Discovery Bay. There is little between the front two on the book but it might just be worth taking a chance with the latter who was making his debut that day. A fair Irish handicapper on the Flat for Andrew Oliver, he showed distinct improvement when runner-up to Veloce here last time and further progress would afford him decent claims here.
