Verdict

Joe Caster sets the standard on what we have seen so far and whilst there may be a couple of jokers in the pack regarding the newcomers, we are happy to side with Joe Caster. The selection was a good second at Leicester recently on his debut when he bumped into a fair sort of Michael Bell's. He was well-fancied on that occasion and on this slightly better ground (hung as if he wasn't really enjoying the underfoot conditions), he should be capable of putting his experience to good use. Kyllorien can be expected to improve, however she may fare better against her own sex, so of more interest may be Robin The Till who's stable can ready a newcomer but their horses are not in as good form as right at the start of the season. Fault is speedily bred, but the stable's youngsters usually improve for the run, whilst Imperial Guest is a half-brother to the less-than-spectacular Priceless Speedfit. Doc Jones has claims, especially as his stable have been having plenty of success with their juveniles. An open contest, where the betting will help, however it is Joe Caster who receives the vote.
