Verdict

A very open looking nursery, with STRIDING EDGE heading our shortlist, ahead of Brooksby and Caster Sugar. Willie Muir's colt, a son of Rock of Gibraltar, makes his Kempton debut, having previously shown up well on the all-weather at Wolverhampton, Lingfield and Great Leighs where he won at this level. Against the modicum of ability shown by some of these he looks a class apart, without being a world beater himself, and is well treated, giving a little weight away to most. Caster Sugar finished well behind the selection last time out, but being closer in the weights could see a change of fortune. She's Luca Cumani's only runner on the card. Brooksby is one of two Richard Hannon runners, and looks the pick ahead of Celtic Commitment, but keeps finding a few too good. A number of these keep threatening to win a race at this level, but our selection already has and can score again, and that's Striding Edge.
