Very little to go on here for punters but SAYYAAF showed enough first time out to suggest that this maiden is within his compass, while Never Lose and Evasive could also go well. Sayyaaf was sent off at 33/1 for his Sandown debut last month over this trip, and performed better than the market suggested to finish in the frame. He has a Derby entry and if he is to get anywhere close to running in next year's renewal then he ought to improve enough to win this. Never Lose has had the two runs for Clive Brittain and shown some ability, although the improvement did not look there second time so we'll swerve her for today. Evasive is bred to do well over middle distances in time and this is a nice trip over which to start him, though Sir Michael Stoute's juveniles are striking at 15 per cent this season so he is no debut certainty. It is similar for Mark Johnston, who runs Royal Society, although this King's Best colt is related to juvenile 7f winner No Excuse Needed and a bold showing is anticipated. Mafaaz was an expensive Hamdan Al Maktoum purchase and pedigree suggests that he could show up very well first time out, so check the market for clues.
