Verdict

GABRIEL'S LAD ran free from the front at Wolverhampton last month and it was no surprise when he ran out of steam in the closing stages. He's fancied to do better under a more restrained ride today and gets the vote ahead of Fortrose Academy. The latter finished a creditable third on his debut at Haydock, but that was back in May and he might need this. Wiltshire Life could prove best of the remainder with experience, while Bella Ophelia is a half-sister to five winners and makes most appeal of the newcomers.
